Captain Mike Finiguerra grew up in New York where his father introduced him to fishing when he was just in diapers. He spent most of his time fishing his home waters off Montauk, Long Island.
Mike always had an interest in broadcast television and has appeared in nationally televised commercials for brands such as McDonalds, Sony, Nike, Kraft Foods and Ford Motors. He also appeared in two major programs on the ABC television network.
Mike spent most of his time in his teen years jockeying between fishing, playing ice hockey and studying. During the summers, he worked as a guide at a marina — taking guests fishing and boating. He also competed and placed in a number of offshore fishing tournaments.
Mike attended college at the University of Connecticut, where he double-majored in communications and political science with a focus in digital marketing.
Mike joined the team in 2013 right after graduating college. He is a USCG licensed master captain and is the production and marketing manager for the Bass2Billfish with Peter Miller television show.
Madison Roberts’ fishing passion began at a very young age. Madison and his father would walk a few blocks from their home in St. Petersburg, Florida to spend their day fishing from the seawall in Tampa Bay. Madison moved to Tallahassee, Florida but his passion for fishing in the ocean continued to grow. Madison and his family vacationed forty-five miles south of Tallahassee to St. Teresa Beach, where his father trailered their family boat to spend the days of summer fishing for grouper, red snapper, trout and redfish. Throughout high school and college, Madison continued to fish through his job at a local tackle outfitter, Florida State University Fishing Club and family vacations to Ocean Reef in Key Largo, Florida.
Madison knew he had a calling to be a professional fisherman. In 2006 he moved to South Florida to pursue his passion as a professional fisherman aboard the “Steel Magnolia” as well as a number of private and charter boats. Madison enjoyed his profession so much that in 2008 he earned his captain’s license.
In the summer, the “Steel Magnolia” would move to the Gulf of Mexico where the team would compete in various blue water tournaments out of Destin and Panama City, Florida. During the fall and winter, Madison and the “Steel Magnolia” competed in South Florida sailfish tournaments including the World Sailfish Championship in Key West, Florida where he met Peter Miller.
Madison, now a member of the Bass2Billfish crew, works with production as well as being on-camera with Peter helping with tackle thus allowing Peter to focus on the guests. Madison enjoys working with the world-class Peter has assembled to make this show a truly unique experience. Quoting Madison, “this experience has allowed me to grow in my career and has challenged my abilities in a productive way.”Top
